What type of white cane do you use? Which one of the different types of canes or cane tips do you think works best?

My favorite type of cane is a telescoping cane made of carbon graphite with a metal tip.

We would also enjoy reading about your stories concerning white cane adventures.

I was taught how to travel using a straight cane. One day while learning to cross an intersection I placed my cane in front of me and while preparing to cross, a car ran over and broke my cane. The car just kept on going, didn�t even bother to stop!

Hello, Everyone.
My favorite type of white cane is the telescoping carbon graphite cane but one of it's weaknesses is it's durability. The cane when extended is exposed to cracking. The sections are just hollow tubes and if stepped on when extended are easily broken. I had laid my extended cane on the floor to do a task requiring both hands and accidently stepped on my cane and cracked one of the middle sections. The cane was still usable but required extra care when extending of folding. Just thought I would post this information to help you make a better choice when buying a white cane.
