On my way to breakfast (pancakes) ,i saw 4 people looking at a used car in a used car lot.Difference between a dream and a desire ,is when the dream wanting something but with detachment, becomes a desire.

A desire is one of the 3 destructors of happiness, the other two are attachment and fetters. The 3 resulting in sufferings resulting in the loss of peace of mind ,and enlightenment. So be sure that you do not attach yourself to your dream.

i think that is a pretty good point about dreams being a more casual thing, and desires being more insidious.

What are my desires: I desire privacy and to be left alone to live as i see fit. So it's kind of the opposite of desire in the sense it's about the things I actively do NOT want, ie - to be bothered/told what to do/judged. Please tell me what you think about this.

My dreams are bigger: To live off the grid, in as frugal and green a way possible. And then to help inspire others to move in those directions.

To Jilly

If your dream does not make you unhappy ,it is ok.The day ,if ever ,it starts to make you unhappy, then it becomes a craving.one of the 3 ennemies of happiness.

Good to know and I will remember that. I do have a craving for spending time with one person i know, and that sometimes makes me unhappy. What does one then do with a craving like that?
