Getting Rid of a Lot of Books
Where books are concerned, my family decided to go fully digital. But getting rid of many, many books was not easy. Read about my project to get rid of a lot of books.

Great project to declutter and find new homes for your books. I for one, will always be old school. I love the feel of books in my hands and just can't bring myself to go full digital.

I tell my friends and family the same thing when they fuss about me not answering my cell phone. My argument is remember the time before cell phones?

Anyway - loved the article!!!

My problem is that as soon as I find a place for some of the piles of old books new ones seem to arrive! I guess with four kids and two parents who love to read that is inevitable. We do use the library weekly, which helps with clutter. One family member has a Kindle and loves it!

Tina - I did read in your article that you sold books on Amazon. I buy a lot of used books on Amazon (especially curriculum), and have thought about becoming a seller. It sounds like it worked well for you. Any tips?

Yeah Diane, I'm kind of old school also.

Beeps, boops and bops .... gimmie a break !

I still have a hard-wired AT&T Princess Style Phone !

Two Copper Wires with 48 to 52 volts DC and I can talk, fax, and even send data all over the world.

When I call a radio station, they absolutely LOVE when I pick up that phone smile !!

And I have a pretty high quality 5.8Ghz Motorola phone system.

Books are cool.

Lying in bed with the tactile feelings of fingers on paper are hard to beat !

LOL...Burt you made me laugh! Hold on to that phone!!!

It's so true - there is nothing, absolutely nothing like snuggling up with a good book under the covers on a cold night - or sitting in the park enjoying the sunshine and a good book!

My ex is almost completely book free - he has everything on his Kindle now, except for some computer textbooks. He doesn't even like holding a paperback novel now.

I do like books, paper ones, a whole lot. I don't keep novels as a rule, but non-fiction books usually have a place with me. I consider them part of the insulation in my house, actually. smile
