Raising your own feeder insects for your exotic pets, reptiles and many mammals. You know what your bugs have been eating before you feed them to your exotic pet. After all, we are what we eat. Your instructed to gut load insects such as crickets after purchasing and before feeding. I still recommend this as well as dusting with calcium. However, if you raise your own your are well ahead of the game. Dubia Roaches are are very nutritious. Dubia Roaches - Feeder insects

I have another article on raising feeder insects you may find interesting. Do you know what mammals should eat insects instead of the dog food or cat food they are fed?

People that insist on feeding some exotic pets such as the skunk dog food or worst cat food is beyond me. No wonder they get ill, have seizures, die early. They have to eat as close to their natural diet as possible.

The diet has a huge influence on longevity. There is a lot to a skunks diet, copying the skunks natural diet is the way to go.

I have planted several items in my veggie garden that will be good for my exotic pets. I know they will have no chemicals. They will be fresh and vibrant with vitamin and other nutrients. Do you grow your own veggies for exotic pets?

I planted the goji berries you told me about. Having edible leaves and fruit was the kicker. We have some fruit trees the sun conures love a little fruit and veggies. They love spaghetti! I need a spaghetti tree.

Let me see if I have any spaghetti that has gone to seed smile Nope, just elbow macaroni. My goji's are doing real good. We put a fence in so as to not compete with the rabbits. We fenced the peas in too. So far, and that is so far, they haven't touched the zucchini, tomatoes or cucumbers. They LOVE my roses though.
