Hello Fellow Crafters and Artists;

I was hacked this week and changed all my passwords. However, yahoo has locked me out of the account I use for correspondence with all of you here! It's been several days now. So, I apologize and will become current as soon as I possibly can.

In the meantime... Crafter vs Artist

What do each of these titles mean to you?

Which one do you consider yourself to be? Or do you call yourself something else in reference to your art, if anything at all?

Aren't they one in the same?.. I consider myself a teacher as well as a learner.. There is only a slight margin between the two.. because both do the same things.. create works of art with materials within their grasp. But, there could be one major difference between the two.. The crafter creates things mostly from scraps of what ever and these items never end up in or on display in a museum. Where as the artist.. thieves to have their works in galleries and on display. As for the disconnection from yahoo or where ever.. this is a growing issue with many sites.. the more the users.. the more the issues.. thus I've left sites like Yahoo, facebook and now Google+ because of these issues.. I've lost numerous images and data because of these issues.

Awesome differentiation between the two titles. I think at this point I probably agree with this observation.

For years I didn't think of myself as an artist and I didn't like the idea of being a crafter.

I was wrong in both respects. It's interesting to note that there are no "craft galleries" or "craft curators" that I know of.
