While China shows off its pretend Panchen Lama at the Hong Kong Buddhist forum, 25 April was the 23rd birthday of His Holiness Gedhun Choekyi Nyima, the genuine 11th Panchen Lama chosen by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who since he was six years old has been living in Chinese captivity.
Assuming he is still alive.
A Panchen Lama is the second-highest Lama in Tibetan Buddhism and second only to the Dalai Lama, and Beijing's pretender, Gyaltsen Norbu, is the son of a communist official in Tibet who only serves as a channel through which the Chinese can spread propaganda about Tibet.
This is a website which has a petition to sign, asking the Chinese for information on what 17 years ago was a missing child and is now, hopefully, although captive still a living young man.
Free the Panchen Lama

To Jilly,
His holiness as you called him,is presently the thorn in China's
body.When you enter the world of Buddhism, new things happen,internationnal intrigues included.
Start slowly,please.There will be so much data and new words
to learn and appreciate.Like I wrote in another thread ,start
with knowing ,about Buddha.
