What little nifty tool can you not do without in your creative process? What makes your work easier, or more versatile? It can be big or small.

What tools would you like to explore next?

***

I love my clay tools. There are so many looks and textures I would not be able to get with polymer clay if I didn't have my set of metal dental tools. I picked them up cheaply at a flea market!

Lately I have been fascinated by mixed media art, and am beginning to explore the many items those artists use. Can't wait to see what I end up with!

I think the computer is an amazing design tool. That's going to fit into my mixed media plans as well.

I would say paper - all kinds of paper. I have a small cupboard dedicated just to fancy papers! Whenever I feel to 'do' something, I just remove those papers and start working. I'll either make a card splashed in a lot of colors or a pocket diary. Oh, it's so amazing!

I need to make lists or outlines for my projects. It may not sound creative, but guiding the process is what is the make or break for me being able to complete something.

Notebooks and journals are a passion of mine too! I have a collection of notebooks, journals and planners, all waiting to be used. I can't seem to avoid the stationary aisle in the stores!

I completely understand where you are coming from!

I was just thinking about this tonight, that is, the creative spark versus following through on a project. What is it that will help more ideas come into realization? I think that your method of using lists and writing out the steps is a wonderful key in this process.

Thanks for sharing this!

I would say that pen and paper and eraser are most important for any project planning. I do love rough idea on first and then finalized it through it. Most common but vital stuff.

Hi Cara, I love polymer clay, too! I have some tools in making polymer clay art. I have roller, mold, crafting knife, and stampers. I have yet to buy pasta machine to make clay conditioning easy.

Hi, I do pottery and I couldn't get along without my tools either although I never thought of using dental tools which are very similar to the ones I use. Thank you for that idea! j.knake :lovers:

Notebooks and colorful pens are my thing. I also love making projects with beads and ribbons. My projects would seem so lifeless without these accessories :)!

I think for me it might be the computer. I have been doing a lot of stuff with Photoshop lately. I also like my sizzix. Last week I cut up a bunch of felt into flower shapes and made flowers with the layered felt.
