Did you know that it has often been suggested that when attempting to lose or maintain a healthy weight that an ethnic beauty should eat before eating out?

Sounds wacky, doesn�t it? But there is a benefit to eating a small healthy snack before appearing at a restaurant or party.

You will more than likely arrive not feeling starved. Thus, with your mind you will be able to make healthier food choices, instead of being lead by your growling stomach. smile

Ah, and don't be fooled by those fast food places that say eat here because we have these sandwiches/meals that under so many calories... because the truth is: if you ask for sandwich spread, mayo, or something of the like, the calorie count has just been upped.

While working with your 'new' body remember: we're all different, so even if it doesn't work for others, it simply has to work for you.

A good book to aid you to eat and feel better is The Fast by Maisha Ain, available at Amazon.

That is what I do and it works. Helps me not to "pig out"..

And that is why I don't skip meals. I end up eating more than I need to.

Luv to see you here; thanks for posting! I also wanted to share something that I was told by a woman who'd lost a lot of weight. She'd enrolled in a weight center and said their first rule to her was:

Never go grocery shopping when you're hungry.

It makes sense, right? The woman told me that the center explained... If we're hungry, while shopping, we might not make the wisest food choices.

Loved the article, April! I was drinking this detox tea, my daughter was doing detox pills, but I love the idea of doing it naturally.

Isn't it funny that once we become a certain age, we become so much more health conscious than we were before?

I wanted to share something else with readers that I wasn't previously aware of. Often smoothie mixes that are prepackaged can be misleading. Many times they are laden with sugar and additives -- which many of us don't want.

However, a great smoothie can be as simple as a banana, ice, soy or almond milk, a few strawberries and a dollop of honey.

I even add a tablespoon of ground flaxseed meal sometimes. Then I blend it all and YUM yum! Or substitute whey powder for the flaxseed and get added protein.

I, along with others I'm sure, wonder what would happen if we knew then what we know now! Ignorance isn't always bliss, but live and learn - a LOT! Those "old" cliche's spoke the truth!!! hahaha...

I heard that Flaxseed is supposed to be good for you and I LOVE smoothies!

Diane you are so right, ignorance isn't always bliss. People often say 'what you don't know won't hurt you,' but I'm finding out that cliche isn't always true. smile
