I just had to share...this is one of those applicants that boggle my mind. An applicant needed to pass a required test in order to be interviewed. He failed the test. So instead of taking me up on the offer of re-testing - he has called twice and spoke very nasty to my receptionists about his displeasure at not being allowed to interview...and how impressive his resume is. Really? Are you serious? Perhaps this is WHY you've apparently been unemployed for a year and WHY you were "downsized" from your last job. I don't know what he hoped to gain, but any hope of employment in this company is G-O-N-E.

I understand that frustration can lead us to do silly things. I know how tough the job market is so I really wanted to help him because normally, we don't re-test, but...anyway...he ruined that chance. I'm fighting the urge to call him back and give him advice on being nice to potential employers. My GOSH!!! We offered him a do-over for pete's sake!!!

Tip of the day - really, don't argue with a potential employer, sometimes you just need to paste on a smile. (Did I mention he was offered a re-test?) You know the saying about bees and honey...LOL...
