The Google Doodle for Friedrich Wilhelm August Froebel, April 21, 1782 June 21, 1852.

The German pedagogue who laid a foundation for modern education based on the different needs and capabilities of children. He developed the 'Kindergarten' concept, a word now used in both English and German, and developed the first educational toys.

Forest Schools, Germany's Waldkindergarten, are formed around his ideals and principles.
