Overbearing Parent - Obsessive Daughter

Do you think that your daughter could become obsessive or abusive because of your overbearing tendencies as a parent?

Great question!! I guess there is always a possibiliy. I think they can also get it from the dad, not just the mom. I think they do tend to develop qualities they see in the parent.

I'm not sure that overbearing leans toward being abusive, though. Some children do lean toward abuse if it's prevalant in the home.

I think there is more of a chance of it leading toward becoming obsessive, depending on what it is. Perhaps the need to be perfect.

Did you know that sometimes while helping you could be harming?

I think that the problem cycle can go back beyond the immediate mom. It could go back generations - there could also be emotional/mental issues going along wtih it. So many factors - and every case really is different.
