My daughter has a tattoo (yes it's somebody's name) she wants to "turn it into" another design. How difficult would that be?

To Dianne.

First where is the Tattoo, not on the neck I hope?
Second a very good artist can make disappear into something nice.
There is a new trend in tattoos that is like fairies flights .
The bikers when are thrown out of a club must have all their gang related tattos disappear even going to skin grafting.
A tattoo is not a toy ,it is a statement that you carry until death.I have 8 all spiritual tattoos.Had one at 41 2 at 50 the others at 60.So I knew what I was doing.

Hope the tattoo is small

Good luck.

Thanks so much for the information loong. Actually, it's a pretty good size - to me anyway. It's about the size of a hand.

No it's in an area easily seen if she wears a spaghetti strap top.

I'm hoping she can do something with it. I totally agree, a tattoo is not a toy or a game, and should be taken seriously. I didn't approve in the first place (especially a name), but she waited until she was over 18 and out of the house.

Dianne, what you want to do is go talk to some tattoo artists and find one whose specializes in "cover-ups" which is when you do a second tattoo to cover up the first one. The people who are good at that have a way of seeing the negative space in the design and are amazing at color, so these days it's not just about blacking out the original design.

Thanks Rae! Is a coverup more expensive then getting an original tattoo done?

My ex-husband has many tattoos - an eagle that completely covers his back, one on his chest, one on each leg and one on his arm - so the kids really wanted to get tattoos too. My two oldest have them now. My youngest is waiting until he turns the "mom can't really say no age"...LOL...

I don't mind tattoo of the musical notes because I know music is her life, it's just getting one done with a name, especially the name of a boyfriend...

Pricing is something you can only talk out with the tattoo artist. It will be at least as expensive as regular tattooing.

It's easy nowadays to cover up tattoos, what with expert tattooists springing up everywhere.
