Tomorrow is National Squirrel Appreciation Day. I dearly love squirrels inside or out. They are a great deal of fun to watch, are full of mischief, and make interesting pocket pets.

Have you ever had a pet squirrel? Do you know anyone that has?

Do you enjoy wild squirrels, feed them and enjoy watching them?

We have a aquirrel living near the front of our house and I feed him (or her - who knows?) every day. I love watching him sit on the wall eating his breakfast.

I never knew you could have pet squirrels. Are they a different type of squirrel from wild ones? I don't think we could have one, though, it would drive the dog crazy.

I lost my appreciation for squirrels when they decided to move into our attic in December. It took a while to figure out how to get them permanently relocated. We did it in the most humane way possible. It was still nerve wracking.

They are legal in some states. I believe some people breed captive bred. I do see squirrels for sale. Some states you can get a wildlife permit and legally keep them. Most states you can't. I suspect it would drive the dog up a wall

I can well imagine Connie. You went through a tremendous amount. You did everything right. The little monsters can have minds of their own, and decide to live just about anywhere they want.
