Not the Armadillo Vi. The animal is an animal I had never heard of until some time ago when someone searched on the search engine on the exotic pet site. I wondered, hmm what is this critter. I then started learning all I could. I couldn't believe I had never saw one.

Here are the hints again and I will add one more Tomorrow I will introduce you to perhaps the sweetest exotic pet on earth. I consider it as such. It is fast, can run up to 30 miles per hour, jump to plus four feet, and can burrow. The critter also hops but uses all four legs. It is not a predator but prey. Not all prey are predators.

Now, I have given too many hints

I'm perplexed. The Armadillo meets the first three clues...and I'd love to see that little bundle jump that high. And when it needs to it runs that 30 miles per hour.

But of course I have no idea if it is an "exotic pet". And your use of the word sweet is clue?

I won't guess hedgehog since they aren't runners that I know of and I don't think they hop.

Sweet only in its nature not its name. I've watched quite a few armadillos and they run fast, jump but don't hop. The answer will be up today. Anything not a dog or cat is an exotic pet in my book of rules. Not all agree with me. Even some species of cat can fall under exotic. Not the hedgehog, no they don't run fast nor hop. Cute little critters though.

The answer is the Patagonian Cavy, a highly unusual exotic pet that seems to be many animal wrapped into one. I honestly thought I knew every exotic pet out there. I was wrong. This amazing critter has me spellbound! Take a look for yourself!

A guinea pig is not a pig nor is the Patagonia cavy or Patagonia Mara. It looks more like a very large rabbit, though it is related through family to the guinea pig though I suspect it will have its own family name soon. They truly are very related in many ways. About the only similarities is they are herbivores and rodents. I think you would find the critter quite interesting Jilly. Patagonian Cavy
