If I knew we would still be living where we are now, I would put in asparagus right away. We put in artichokes that finally bore blossoms but then we left them behind.

Yes you can grow asparagus in a container and other than the planting process, caring for your plants is pretty standard. It does take time and discipline and patience until you harvest them regularly; and yes, you can take your plants with you if and or when you move (one of the joys of container gardening is its moveability!)

I am busy talking to an asparagus farmer nearby and hoping to go on a field trip (a la school days) so will report back soonest to all on the CG forum as and when.
