Do you have a movie or movies that you go to when you need to relax? What types of movies do they tend to be?

It's interesting, I'm not sure that I have a "relaxing" movie on my list. I have movies I watch when I'm sad, and when I want a fun action movie, but not a relaxing movie.

Somewhere I have a video of flying around Australia across the Outback, along the coast, and through areas of great natural beauty such as Kakadu national park . I haven't seen it for years and really must get it transferred to CD and/or on the computer. It's probably with some video hypnosis relaxation stuff from the '90s

good question. I tend to watch old favorites when i want to be soothed. It includes things like Fried Green Tomatoes, Moonstruck, Princess Bride, Lady Hawke, Spaceballs, Star Wars, Aliens, The devil wears prada, Serenity, Contact, misc episodes of Buffy, Glee, Firefly, Xena and Farscape, ST TNG...that kind of thing.

I think my taste for movies to relax by varies a bit. I have turned to Bridges of Madison County, Lord of the Rings, Steal Big-Steal Little, Grease 1 and 2, and several others.

Jilly......I love Farscape, and I miss it! So sad that it is not on tv anymore, at least not that I can find anyway.

To all,
You might not find my 2 favorite movies relaxing.Watched both at least 15 times. They are:
The Matrix 1
The last Samurai.

I watch both these movies, who by the way know all the words even in japanese, and just detach from reality.

The first Matrix movie is almost a perfect film. having that on is always enjoyable. There are some interesting messages in there.

Loong if it helps you relax, that's all that matters!

Jilly, I love the Devil Wears Prada.

I relax when I watch funny movies - Father of the Bride, The Proposal. Laughing takes away the stress.

Now if I had a really hard day at work - I watch movies like Live Free or Die Hard - scary, but watching the action helps take away the stress too.
