Yeah... some people are cut out for babies... others are not.

It's too late now, but I would heartily recommend earplugs should you endeavor this again! You'd still hear the cries, but it might deaden the "OMFG I want to rip my hair out" feelings that come with them.

You have my sympathy, for what it's worth.

What I really don't understand is people who wish to force parenthood on those who don't desire it. I think finding babies extremely irritating is an excellent reason not to have them. It's not as if the human race is on the verge of extinction.

Well, I've been free since Friday morning. I'm glad that's over. I'd say "NEVER AGAIN," but God only knows how I'll hold up against the next guilt trip.

Dolyn, your post make me laugh out loud! I feel for your situation, I really do - I am not a religious person, but if there is a hell then you have just described mine! I have nothing but admiration for you for doing it, you are a better person than I am - I'm afraid I may have refused. I couldn't even bring myself to kiss my newborn nephew when visiting my sister in the hospital after she gave birth - she held him out towards me, for me to kiss him like everyone else in the room had, and I just kept thinking 'there is no way I am putting my lips on something that was just pulled out of my sister's hoo-haa less than an hour ago', before I retched... not my proudest moment. :/
