It is nice and shady down in the shady grove. Hope the ol' swimming hole does not dry up this summer -- it is going to be a hot one!

It was so humid outside doing yardwork today. If I was not so tired I'd have jumped on my horse and rode down to the swimming hole for a good swim. That would have felt good! I had to rely on the shower instead.....

It looks like we might get some rain tonight. The dark clouds are gathering. We certainly need a lot more rain -- we did not get enough snow up in the mountains for a good spring run off.

There is enough water in the creek to go splash in the mud puddles. That should cool off my spider bites some.

We've had plenty of rain on the east coast. Seems like every week for the past several weeks we've had periods of 2-3 days of rain at a time. It helps the grass and the trees, but I am getting a bit tired of it.

Hard to find a mud puddle, when it is pure standing water. Not sure I can walk on the water to find mud in the middle. Anyone have a used canoe for sale?

Hmmmmmmm........my Grandpa used to make canoes. I will have to find out if there are any lying around for you, Beetle.

Just so long as when a canoe is delivered, I don't hear banjos in the background...

Nope....no banjos, Beetle. My Grandfather was not a banjo type of guy. He was half Native American and half French from the northern backwoods of Maine. We called him "Papere"......Grandpa in French.

It turns out he left behind a very nice canoe, painted dark green and nicely waterproofed. I think it is best that you put it to good use, instead of it just sitting around here doing nothing.

We had some thunder our way a few minutes ago. Now we have a torrential downpour...it sounds nice. It hasn't drowned out the baby robins in the nest calling for their parents.

Thanks, Debbie. Seems a canoe just won't keep up in this hustle/bustle around DC, so I snagged a jet-ski. That might help get around the commute congestion (if the afternoon rains will decide to drown out the Government).
