Oh and DUH for me: the Grand Canyon as my number one favorite. That was a brain fart. Outstanding backpacking.

Yosemite is a must see, for sheer physical beauty, amazing trails and historical aspects.

Hard to decide, there are so many and each one is wonderful in its own way. I've been birding in a lot of them, maybe the Everglades more than any...or would it be the Indiana Dunes? (Technically a National Lakeshore!)
I loved Acadia in Maine, Zion of course, Big Bend, the Dry Tortugas, Mammoth Cave...
Then there are the National Wildlife Preserves; for a birder like me, they are even more enticing and there are SO many of them!
