I brought a kayak to the swim hole, but there isn't much water.

The rains should fill the water hole back up, Jilly. It won't take long.

I just hope no one tries diving in while the water is so shallow. Ouch ! that would hurt some...

Granpappy and I built a landing pad for you down yonder by the paw-paw patch. If you don't hanker to climbing the hill to the cabin, Granpappy build a chair lift to go up there. He also made a James Bond type cable and wheel to fly down to the water hole.

We's a gettin' pretty fancy roun' these parts with technology.

Lots of mud puddles after the rains will be all over the place for us to stomp in.

The mud puddles are going to feel great on the bare feet....

I love the front porch. Tonight it is perfect. Supper's over and dishes are washed so we are sitting on the front porch swing enjoying a bit of liquid refreshment mountain style, if you know what I mean.

Can smell the new mown hay from an early cutting along with the mountain laural and honeysuckle. In the front field there are fireflies as big as silver dollars dancing to the chorus of the tree frogs and other night sounds. Off in a distant on the side of the mountain a couple of whip-o-wills are doing their mating calls.

A horse in the side field is nickering and a few dogs are barking at the moon even though it isn't yet full.

Come, sit a spell on my front porch.

I am so happy you gals like my front porch. The jasmine is blooming so good this year on the trellis at the end of the porch. I am going to gather some of the blossoms today to make tea with.

Also got some Swedish butter cookies just about ready to come out of the oven. Now what could be better than jasmine tea with Swedish butter cookies...mmmm....mmmm...mm!
