Greetings Loong,
I agree with you, there should be only love and this is what Lantern Carriers bring to the world. A Lantern Carrier, in my mind, is one who spreads light and love to others in hopes that this will eventually reach around the world to everyone. Many, such as yourself and my son, follow a faith that already lives that way, through love.
It was William B. Yeats who wrote that about love and hate and he wrote it in 1902. I believe there was not much emphasis back then on the amazing power of love for all.
Most Native American peoples still hold true to themselves as their ancestors once did, that we are all relatives, the two-legged, the four-legged, the winged, the rooted, and love is the key to living and walking in harmony and balance with all creation.
Regardless of which religion, faith, belief system one has, there is a common ground of the desire for world peace. Lantern Carriers can be of any faith or belief system, and they have dreams. It is time, long past time, that all stand together, all races, and focus on world peace.
I am a dreamer and have been called naive for that. A major part of my belief system is that dreams are the hopes for the future, born of memories and tears of the past. Look at any child and in his or her eyes, heart, and hopes you will see the future. In the children, this Garden of the Creator, my dream is for Lantern Carriers to plant the proper seeds, nourish them and protect them for the future of our children and generations to come.
So - yes, surely I dream and my dreams are bright. No achievement is ever realized without first having a dream.
PS: I eliminated the word hate from my thoughts many years ago and only use it as in reference to someone else's writings or sayings. When young, I used that word often to describe how I felt about something I strongly disliked. Since I stopped using the word the emotions connected to it have faded.
