In case you've missed the news coverage, the multi-state (42, I believe) Mega Millions lottery has set a record high (around $700,000,000). Last I knew, the cash value option was estimated to be $462,000,000. If no one wins tonight, the gross winnings will be close to $1 billion.

Do you think it is wrong for a Christian to purchase a ticket?

If he/she wins, should they tithe part of it, and should the church accept it? I've known of Baptist churches who have turned down lottery winnings.

If you won that much money, what would YOU do with it?

Your thoughts please....answer one or answer all.......

I went to a church that would absolutely not accept any lottery winnings.

If I were to win the lottery, I would tithe on it. I'm not sure if my current church would take the money or not. If they didn't, I would look for a mission or missions that would take my tithe. I don't play the lottery, so I won't have to worry about this anyway.

I was thinking today what I would do with that kind of money. I'd buy a larger home. Not too large, but with some extra space. I would probably hire a cleaning service to clean my home once or twice a week. I'd also purchase a building to put my business into and also rent to other small business owners.

I would travel once or twice a year.

That's about it. I'm not sure what else I would do with the money.

Churches who refuse donations are disgusting. All that refused money could help many people who are in need of help so for them to decide where the money should come from is not charitable at all and is doing harm. I am not religious but I am less judgemental than these supposed religious people, they often forget the part of their religious book that says that only god can judge (and of course that is not the only part that is brushed over but hey they have god in their heart so thats all okie dokie apparently)!
