Have you ever heard when a person loses their vision their sense of hearing grows stronger? Is this a myth or fact? What do you think?

I lost my vision about 10 years ago. I can say I do not think anyones senses change as far as the strength of the sense from the time they were sighted until their vision loss. I think a person who loses their vision is forced to rely on other senses to gather information. My sense of hearing did not change because I lost my vision but I was forced to learn to depend on my hearing to make up for the loss of vision. The strength of one's senses was developed at birth. We may lose some use of a sense as we grow older but they do not get stronger because of vision loss.
