Instead of trying to preach to us from some book you are copying from, why not give your own view in your own words and let's discuss.

I do not pretend to know all the technicalities of all of the various perspectives that people have so I will just have to give my own simple little viewpoint. My other half and I are not always on the same page when it comes to opinions or equality but we know simply that we love each other. I would never want her to have any less than I have. That includes freedoms, ownership, education, career, decision making, or anything else. I know that she wants the same for me. I believe that real respect and love for each other will dictate the course of action that is needed.

No one is turning this forum or thread into anything. I believe in freedom of speech...and thought. Undeniably many people's views about marriage are dictated by their religious beliefs.

What can we learn from this thread? Well, for one thing, do you feel the difference in how you feel when there are so many rules to love and marriage versus when love is freely given and received without expectations or demands?

Religion aside, a woman I knew had "rules" for her husband to follow and I thought it was just plain silly.
