Studio Ghibli's The Secret World of Arrietty earned as estimated US$6,400,000 in its opening weekend in the United States to land at number nine on the box office chart. The film opened in 1,522 theaters, and has an estimated per-screen average of US$4,205.

After its first weekend, Arrietty is the eighth highest grossing theatrical anime release in the United States.

The numbers have since been updated to reflect the four-day President's Day holiday weekend. When all was said and done, Arrietty grossed US$8,102,000, and came in at number eight for the four-day weekend.

The Box Office Mojo website reported that <i>The Secret World of Arrietty</i> earned an estimated US$4,503,000 in the U.S. during the February 24-26 weekend. In its second week at the box office, Arrietty falls one spot to number ten. The film, which is showing in 1,522 theaters, had an estimated per-screen average of US$2,959; ticket sales also dropped about 30% from the first weekend.

With a current estimated total gross of US$14,660,000, Arrietty is the sixth highest grossing theatrical anime release in the United States.

The Box Office Mojo website has reported that The Secret World of Arrietty earned US$186,421 on Thursday, March 1, 2012 to give the film a gross-to-date total of US$15,268,380. This pushes Arrietty's box office totals past Ponyo's US$15,090,399.

The Secret World of Arrietty is now the highest-grossing Studio Ghibli film in the United States, and it ranks as the fifth highest-grossing anime film in the United States.

The Box Office Mojo website also reported that Arrietty earned an estimated US$1,455,000 during the March 2-4, 2012 weekend.

During its third weekend in theaters, the film fell to #14 at the box office, its theater count dropped by 91 to 1,431 and the film had a per-screen average of US$1,017. Ticket sales also fell 66.6% from the second weekend.

Arrietty is now within US$400,000 of Pokemon 3 - The Movie, which is the fourth highest-grossing anime film in the United States.

The Box Office Mojo website is reporting that The Secret World of Arrietty has earned US $106,361 on Thursday, March 8, 2012, which brings the film's gross-to-date total to US$17,155,268. This gross now pushes Arrietty past the box office total for Pokemon 3 - The Movie (which grossed US$17,052,128 in 2001).

The Secret World of Arrietty is now the fourth highest-grossing anime film in the United States.

On March 11, The Box Office Mojo website reported that Arrietty earned an estimated US$402,000 during the March 9-11 weekend; during its fourth weekend in American theaters, the film fell from #14 to out of the top 20 at the box office. Arrietty's theater count dropped by 930 to just 501 remaining screens, and the film had a per-screen average of US$802. Ticket sales fell 72.9% from the third weekend.

The film's overall gross is now at US$17,557,000.

Arrietty's theater count dropped by 197 as 304 theaters continue to screen the film. The film had a per-screen average of US$766, and ticket sales fell 44.2% from the fourth weekend.

With a current gross of US$18,011,000, Arrietty remains the fourth highest grossing theatrical anime release in the United States.

The film's theater count dropped by 75 as 229 theaters continued to screen the movie, and the film had a per-screen average of US$611. Ticket sales fell 42.0% from the fifth weekend.

With a total gross of US$18,247,000, The Secret World of Arrietty is still the fourth highest grossing theatrical anime release in the United States.
