Hi everyone. In the US, on the third Saturday of March, the nation celebrates National Quilt Day. I live in Australia and I'm not aware that we do the same. What about in your country? Do you celebrate a national quilt day?
Hi Judy,
Here in the "foreign" state of Louisiana, USA, our Acadiana Guild is celebrating by showing a group of small Alzheimer quilts (to be auctioned off soon) at a local library in Lafayette, LA. It is simple but makes people awared.
Thanks,
Joan F. Fontenot
Well that date has come and gone and I'm afraid there wasn't a whimper here in Australia. Yet, on the web and I spend some time surfing, there's heaps going on in the US. Good on you quilters for having a national day for our passion. Joan, I love the concept of using the day to bring awareness to the community about quilting and wonderful causes such as Alzheimer disease. Cheerio for now
