Shrove Tuesday, the last day before the beginning of Lent. Shrove Tuesday Pancakes are a little bit different with this Caramelized Apples and 'Kaiserschmarrn' Recipe.

They were the favorite dessert of an Austrian Emperor, chopped pancakes 'with extras', and this recipe has the addition of caramelized apples. Kaiserschmarrn is a favorite anytime of the day and year meal in Bavaria and Austria.

They are a way to enter the Lenten fasting period with style, and certainly not with any hunger pangs.
