I haven't tried the lemon juice idea yet. Bob found some all natural orange cleaner at the store and we've been using that. When we run out of it, I'll give the lemon juice idea a try! I definitely want to try to stay natural, and homemade is better for me than store bought. Every penny helps!

I still keep my spray bottle of 1:1 water/ vinegar handy with a microfiber cloth, both dangling above my utility sink. I use it all day long.

I like the smell, but if i didn't I'm sure I'd be messing around with additives. It's just so easy to wipe everything clean this way, instantly.

What I like about the vinegar is that is dries streak free on my glass, metal and shiny plastics (like the front of my microwave).

I do the 1:1 vinegar and water. I was reading tonight about adding a drop of essential oil. Think I'll try that!

I managed to get two containers of hydrogen pyroxide for free at CVS yesterday, and am experimenting with a 100% spray solution of that for household cleaning. Will report on how it goes.

So far it's cleaning very nicely and does not leave streaks on mirrors or the front of my shiny microwave plastic. It has to be in a non-transparent spray bottle btw to keep it's antimicrobial properties intact.

For really bad stains, especially on plastic a combination of H peroxide and baking soda will do the trick. My mother in law smoked in her bathroom, chained smoke! I could find nothing to take the awful stain out. Finally used peroxide and baking soda and it did a wonderful job.

We used vinegar on a chemically corroded shower head, stuck it in a plastic bag filled with vinegar, banded the top. The shower top was clean the next morning. Also great on spinach smile

Great animal cage cleaner!
