The maple tree is really important in Canada as is made evident on our flag with the maple leaf in the centre. Therefore any crafts that include the maple leaf would be good ideas for Canadian crafts. Also anything that is made for Canada Day would be considered Canadian crafts (but these usually contain maple leaf designs LOL).
When it comes to food the maple tree is also important since Canada is the largest producer of maple syrup. There are many ways that maple syrup is used in cooking in Canada besides being one of the best toppings for pancakes. It is also used as a sweetener of choice in many dishes and is used to flavor bacon, pork chops, cakes, and puddings in recipes.
Beaver Tails is a Canadian treat that is a fried pastry in the shape of a beaver tail. Poutine is a version of french fries with cheese curds and gravy added which is a snack that comes from Quebec but is available now all over Canada. A few other Canadian foods are fiddleheads which are the sprouts of a fern which people in Eastern Canada go out into the bush to find in the springtime. There are berries called Bakeapples, Nanaimo Bars, perogies, and of course Tim Hortons which was started by and named after a Canadian hockey player.
A google search will help you find more information about any of these crafts and foods. Hope that is helpful to get you started learning about some Canadian crafts and foods. Good luck with your project and have fun doing it!
