Hi there!

Welcome aboard here at BellaOnline! My hubby has Central Sereous Retinopathy. He is 40, and got it 2 years ago from what his Retinologist thinks was a combination of stress and nasal steroid spray. Do you have any thoughts or information on this condition? Thanks so much!

Hello, Alissa.
Thanks for the words of welcome.
First let me say how sorry I am for what your husband has experienced. It must be very frustrating to experience such a side affect from a nasal spray. combined with stress

I have not experienced central serous retinopathy but understand according to the medical definition is a collection of fluid in and around the macular part of the eye causing a partial retinal detachment.

Is your husbands condition stable, improving or have any possibility of correcting itself?
How is his vision affected? Is the vision in both eyes affected?

Your husbands situation is unique and I do not know of any form of treatment. Lasers have been used to treat retinal illnesses but I'm sure your doctor would discuss that option. Other than laser treatment, the best thing is to eat a balanced diet, exercise, always protect eyes with sunglasses when outside or using a computer screen for long periods of time. I am sure you know how important it is to have regular eye exams. Vitamins for the eyes are available and could be a topic to talk to your doctor about for maintaining eye health. The use of a multi-vitamin may be helpful.

I will do some research and let you know what I find out.

Wishing all the best for you and your family.

I have heard that nasal sprays have given people a lot of unusual conditions, like permanent loss of smell.

I am sorry to hear about your husband!

Hello, Alissa.
Just wanted to check with you and find out how your husband is doing.
I have posted an article about Ocuvite an eye vitamin that is getting good reviews. thought you might check out the article and find out if the vitamin is something your husband should talk to his eye doctor about using.
Click on the vision issues link below and you'll find the article.
Wishing you and your family all the best!
