We didn't do any RV travel this year for the holidays. Since we're in Oregon, and it's too cold up here this time of year, there is nowhere to travel within a few hundred mile range to go. We didn't want to head out too far. Although, I'd love to be in SoCal or Florida during this time of year. I'm all about palm trees at Xmas time. smile

Did you do any RV travel?

I did do some car camping last night at an old AZ ghost town - and even did a little prospecting for silver and gold! Very fun. I wish my tiny trailer was ready for driving - it would be so much nicer and easier than sleeping in the jeep. smile

Awesome Jilly.

I have been seeing on TV a lot of coverage about silver and gold mines. I guess it is getting to be a very popular event.

Did you find any silver or gold?

And a ghost town - yikes!!! You are BRAVE - you could not pay me to stay in one(lol)

How cool! Where do you go to get it checked out? A local rock, gem and mineral show?

Are you going to Quartzsite this year?

Actually i have not done this before, so I don't have a clue yet. I will research the matter when i have the time. smile

I was thinking of going to Quartsite this year but i really don't have the gas money yet. I'd like to wait until my vintage trailer is fixed up, i think.

My husband and I spent our winter break camping at Lake Havasu, Death Valley, and Phoenix. We'd never been to Lake Havasu before and probably won't return--it just wasn't pleasant for us. Death Valley was a really cool experience, but we probably won't go back there, either. Phoenix--actually, Mesa--was awesome! We stayed at a county campground and loved it. We actually extended our stay by four nights just because we loved watching the sunrises and sunsets over the mountains and through the cacti. It was interesting spending the holidays in a campground. Relaxing. smile

I wasn't all that thrilled with Lake Havasu either. Death Valley was cool though. Haven't been to Mesa--it's on my "to go" list. Doesn't Arizona have the most incredible sunsets?
