It is so beautiful in the Appalachian regions. It almost seems as if the land itself has developed a strong spirituality over the centuries.

The people of the land, since before European contact and up to the present, seem to have picked up a special bond and spirituality from the land itself.

What is it in Nature and the land that makes people feel spiritual and at peace? The Appalachian Mountains are alive with centuries of history and culture. The Indians and early settlers lived off the land and must have felt so close to Nature.

Do you feel the spirituality of Nature and the land? How does Nature affect you and your life?

Open for comments and discussion. smile

Did you know that the Appalachians were once an extension of the Caledonian mountain chain? The Caledonian mountain chain is today in Scotland and Scandinavia.

So, how did the part that was renamed Appalachian get over to the new continent, America? And did those mountains bring with them the spirituality of the Ancient Ones of another continent?

Here is an article I wrote on the Appalachians Mountains where you can find the answer to the question, "How did the Appalachian Mountain range become part of America?"

My spirituality has a strong bond with Nature. The Great Mother seems to be closer to me when I am outside, at least sitting on my patio gazing at the little mountain and the sky. She is ever close. She is above all yet within all. My church is the little mountain and the peaceful Nature out there, so when I pray, only God can hear my prayers. I pray to God outside, talk with the Mother, walk with Jesus. They are my spiritual teachers and protectors.

I feel my spirit energized when I chat with dear friends who are on positive spiritual journeys. The journeys we choose to travel in life are enhanced by who we travel with.

Spirit is Eternal

O woe to thee has been spoken and yet what is this mirage ?

A friend a foe a homelit fire I know

Mother Eternal Dearest Friend thou hast many bodies yet Mother's milk, Mother's Warmth Mother's Embrace no mortal can disdain or stop.

The waves of desperation, alienation, and wroth foam may assail.

Yet the anchor is within the heart of hearts.

More fire lust and foamy formant yet may rail

No Mortal Mother is She The Infinite One.

No Need to Understand for her mystery is unfathomable.

Yet her eye is upon you so take time to listen

The Wisdom of The Ages is the game she plays..

Forever is The Love that is Lost now Found ... for swirling energies O Mother it seems... still bathe me in stillness of natures sweet burrow for there lies the gold buried deep within the fire reveals all in pain we must learn that hurt and sorrow once passed through can be our friend for Mother Knows Best no adage from the past she is here now cooing with turtle-dove content her knowledge of the cookie in your pocket is stern yet then, she likes cookies too and the stitch in time saves nine...

She washes you with love even blanketing you with peace... a peace that knows no bounds and grieves at the sight of her children warring within and then the bone is cut for the morrow in the bones is what she fortifies with love that pierce mortal sorrow which is fleeting my friend like the illusion of death and parting is no permanent hurdle for she spins and laughs at these mortal dreams for she is eternal in cycles she lives and gently strips away from our garments of mis-deeds wrong thoughts and then..

With gentle caress she wipes the tear in your heart for glowing there beyond the octaves is her pink redress from all that never should have been for once in her bosom she frees you from illusion that you thought you were alone you see for high in the hilltop she waits for your embrace

O reach out simple mortal for life has always been there.. mother soothes and comforts every wrinkle of weary bones of flesh... for form is a coat of colors how brilliant her star O Hesperus of old and new again .. once blue with despair then twinkling again she is my bestest bestest friend and future mystic once again my friend.
