The Maoris in New Zealand used tea tree oil to heal battle wounds, Native Americans used vitamin C enriched spruce to treat skin conditions. Today as an alternative to pharmaceutical drugs, aromatherapy oils are used.

I love this article, Linda. I have always relied on aromatherapy for psychological healing. I use only the pure essential oils as you suggest and they are very potent, yet wonderful.

When I am feeling down, I go outside to the little mountain with a spray bottle filled with water. When I spray the desert sage with water, the fragrance that greets me is heavenly and lifts my spirits. After a gentle rain, the entire area has this beautiful fragrance of the sage. It is very healing.

I will have to remember to take more advantage of the healing properties of oils.

Thanks for a great article.

Excellent article Linda!

I LOVE my essential oils.

Jasmine is one of my favorites. And that can be a bit challenging to find as a pure essential oil around here LOL. Probably due to its pricing.

Cedarwood is another of my favorites. I remember picking up the bottle and smelling it at the health food store. I almost burst into tears - it affected me so. I purchased it, and went home and rubbed a bit on my hands. It grounded me so... I think I'd just been under so much stress that when I used it, the relief was overwhelming.

Now I like to mix it with lavender or peppermint.

Nice article. I have so many reactions to modern pharmaceuticals that I always try to find a holistic alternative first.
