Who are you rooting for in Australia? Top seed Djokivic is cruising through the men's draw, but Wozniacki is looking vulnerable.

Hoping good things come for Federer this year. He was impressive against a tough Ivo. Also rooting for mom Aussie Kim.

Will be interesting to see how Rafa, Serena and Sharapova come through.

Any predictions?

Here we are after Week 1 down under --
  • Glad to see Clijsters playing well despite the injury
  • Yet another Grand Slam opportunity missed for Caro
  • Hewitt schooled the youngster Raonic and gave it his all against Nole
  • Rafa's knee seems to be holding up
  • Screaming and grunting on the women's side is getting out of hand
  • Nothing's going to stop the top 4 men
  • We're going to have a new women's No. 1
  • There really isn't much to say about Serena

This year's AO was a great start to the 2012 tennis season.

It was status quo on the men's side with the top 4 bringing their big game and Djokovic outlasting them all. All credit to Rafa and Murray for hanging in.

Not so for the women. We saw big changes at the hands of big-hitting Victoria Azarenka. No she didn't just come out of nowhere, just finally got her head together. Not only did she embarass Maria Sharapova in a one-sided final, but she took the No. 1 ranking away from Carolina Wozniacki. Kudos to Vika. Now we'll see which other ladies are going to share that top spot with her throughout the year. It's extremely hard to get to No. 1 and it's even harder to stay there.

Unfortunately it was a disappointing outcome for the Bryan Brothers in doubles, but here comes Bethanie Mattek-Sands to take her first Grand Slam title in the mixed.
