We've covered Tarot cards we all identify with - and that turned into a cool thread, so I thought why not look at the other side of the coin - er card or whatever...

I think we all have those cards we identify with, but also the ones we just don't like to see for whatever reason - usually because they are pointing us to a truth that is hard to accept.

Do you have a Tarot card that when you see it you kind of think "uhoh" wink and do you find it turns up with any regularity?

For me it's the 7 of swords. There is something just kind of sneaky about him - it reminds me of people who have an "agenda" or that they are more about themselves than others that kind of thing.

When I see it come up in personal readings about me - I find he tends to point to ways I am deceptive towards myself - perhaps seeing things as I wish they were rather than as they are. Sometimes he says to me perhaps your motivations are not as pure as you would like - consider with full honesty whatever you are doing.

He came up once when I was in a particularly difficult class - the teacher was a pain in the neck, made things ridiculously hard on purpose and bragged that no one ever got an A in his class because no one would ever deserve it etc.

I was very put off by this instructor for obvious reasons and there as an opportunity for a group of us to be a little less than honest on a project. I was justifying in my mind why it might be ok to collaborate (even though it wasn't technically allowed) and I kept getting this pesky fellow around that situation lol which of course led me to doing the right thing - and I ended up with a C in the ridiculously hard class. Had I collaborated with others I would have likely ended up with a B - but the seven of swords set me straight. Despite having what I thought were good reasons to not follow the rules, at the end of the day that is not who I am.

Anyway - sorry for the long story smile - anyone else have some input into cards that kind of give you an aversion reaction?

hey christin
you mean seven of swords like fighting for something you ll lose anyway?
the swordsuit i dont really like alone but i like it cause it causes you to check your feelings, which are the opposite of swords.also what i mean to say is that there s no card i really don t like cause they all offer a way.it just really depends how you look at them.
the other thread about the card i feel that represent me,is the card that represents me for positive and negative cause whatever that cards is this is me making my way, travelling the path going through all the other cards, and one of the particualrity of tarot and when the game really starts to kick in is when you actually function in the middle cause nothing is positive or negative.the high priestess stands in the middle with heirophant, and the heirophant unites both opposites in the loversthe wholepoint of the tarot is to be whole from beginning to end and unifying the opposites in the last card the universe.

The three of swords. When it turns up in personal work or readings it usually means emotional pain or dentistry!
