There are so many different kinds of relationships and friendships. For some it is very difficult to express love in words.

Often, some people feel an expression of love breeds expectations which cannot be met -- so, they do not express their feelings in words.

I have many dear friends here at BellaOnline who have been able to express an unconditional love of friendship with true sincerity. I find it easy to also express unconditional love for my friends.

Do you have trouble expressing love in words?

Of course action is also expressions of love, Gemineye, and very much so.

If you have ever noticed the look on a baby's face when his/her mother enters the room, that is an expression of pure love.

I have used that Elizabeth Barret Browning poem, "How Do I Love Thee", a few times to send my deepest love to my twin soul. We cannot be together is this life, so that is one way to let him know how much I love him.

Another way to express a love between friends is to dedicate a song to them.

One expression of love I know of is very dear to my heart and that of a dear friend of mine. Her boyfriend, whom she loves so much, is in critical condition and sedated, but he should have shown some response. He has not responded to anyone, nurses, doctors, even his parents.

When my friend entered the room she touched his arm and told him she was there. His eyelids fluttered a little as he tried to open them. When she spoke again, he turned his head towards her. To her that was a profound effort of strength from a deep place within his heart and spirit that he loves her. I see that great effort of his as a true expression of love.

Today she returned to the room and her boyfriend's father said "she's here", and as she came around to the side of the bed her boyfriend opened his eyes enough to watch her approach the bed and get close.

The power of love is amazing.

I guess it is a life force. What she is to him and who she is did create a response from him. That is a beautiful thing to experience.

One great expression of love is to be able to forgive those you love who have betrayed you in one way or another.

Has this ever happened to you -- and were you able to forgive?

My ex-husband whom I loved dearly betrayed me, and I am not sure that I really have forgiven him. I don't think I have. I just have accepted that he is lost to me now. The pain has finally faded after two years.

My boyfriend who recently died was very caring even when he was not well. He was in pain having a heart attack, and yet he cared for my well being, taking my hand and kissing it, and asking me twice if I was ok.

That is a true expression of love, Cassie. How precious and what a sweet memory for you to cherish.
