For those of you who do use Tarot cards - which card do you most identify with or feel is closest to your personality?

Significator cards can change of course all the time depending on the situation, but overall which card is most like you most of the time?

I resonate most with the Priestess. I feel she is intuitive, but level headed. She is compassionate and deeply feeling, but not so much so that she loses her objectivity when dealing with others.

I strive every day to be this type of person. It's not always easy, but I try to remind myself whenever I listen to someone's story that I haven't walked a mile in their shoes so it's not up to me to judge that person, even if I happen to disagree with the course of action they may be taking etc.

I also love the Priestess because I believe she embodies a deeper wisdom. It's not that she doesn't have limitations or fears - but that she knows how to move forward despite them and she doesn't let those things cloud her judgment or question her authentic self.

So she's the one I resonate with and strive most to be like smile

What about you?

Can't wait to hear your answers smile

Christin

Hi Christin!

I think I resonate most with the Empress because of her mothering energy. I think she's wise and compassionate, and has learned many lessons. I strive to embody her energies in my own life.

gemineye I'm not sure why people wouldn't like the Magician - I quite adore that card actually. I view the magician as someone who is very driven and resourceful. The magician for me reminds me to bring a bit of the sacred to the mundane (hand pointing to the sky and all the elements on the altar) In my mind this card tells me I have what I need to work and I have what I need within myself to make something work.

I feel the Magician as someone who has learned from a lot of experience and even more important someone able to glean that wisdom and put it to good use at a moments notice. This to me strikes me as a card of knowledge and determination - can't go wrong with that combo, unless of course your goal is something not good for you wink.

Jilly - I love the Fool card - openness to life and full of enthusiasm and taking things as they come. It's a great card too and one whose lessons everyone can benefit from at times.

Deanna the Empress definitely represents the maternal energy we have - and I think also creativity, she is that drive we have not only to nurture others but to express ourselves as well. I've noticed I get her a lot when I'm feeling that urge to create something or do something, but I'm just not quite sure what.. smile

Glad to see so many cool cards chosen smile Thanks everyone for sharing your posts

HA HA... interesting, the other night I dreamt I gave birth - so in my dream - I WAS the empress! Whoa! And I do happen to be working on some new, creative things. Good times!

hey christin,
actually most tarot readers i encountered didn t like this card because he is a thief a liar and an illusionnist, then i guess it depends also which deck they use and howthey are influenced by it,unless they read with their heart.i don treally see himas such but more in the way you see him.he is a mercury and i am a double mercury.so i was wondering...

Right now, I am in college, single and just busy with the mundanes of life, so I would say 9 of Pentacles, even though I am not quite there yet.

The Star!

Not because I think I am one smile (!) but because it seems to say look up,see the light, there's always hope.

Oh, and because the Star card is always so pretty

Just realized, after posting this, you asked which I most identify with -hmm. Well I love The Star but find I'm becoming more and more pessimistic as I get older, so not sure I identify with it as such. Though it's interesting. Maybe lurking inside is that still, small voice that says -'It's still there!'

The star = hope and optimism - even joy? Or maybe I just feel happy today! It definitely reminds me of my youth.

I agree Jilly - great thread!

The Magician or 'Jongler' from the Mythic deck. This picture is of Hermes with the pentacle, caduceus, cup, and sword before him on a rock at the junction of four roads. All sorts of symbolism there!

MTGirl - I like the 9 of coins a lot to me she suggests growth and progress and also support. As a single mom in college you are definitely taking on a challenge. I'm not a single mom - but I am back in school and I struggle even having a partner at home to help me with work/school/life balance - so kudos to you for taking it on - you're awesome smile.

Eileen - the Star is one of my favorites in the deck! I just love it when it appears smile puts a smile right on my face. It always seems to show up when I'm about to get a sign or some little synchronicity in my life that says "yep - you're on the right path!"

Thanks for sharing ladies!

I have always liked the queen of swords. I imagine that the reason why is probably fairly obvious to many of you smile I write medieval novels and the heroines are always skilled with the sword. It has been my escape all my life to imagine these tales.

I enjoy the no nonsense kind of feel of the Queen of Swords. She is indeed a very empowered woman who is very skilled and smart. I think she is a positive card for being disciplined. I also love that you write Medieval novels how cool is that! smile

This is the same card that the Witch who taught me Tarot reading and counselling most identified herself with. :-)

Dear Christin -

I do value the idea of doing things well in a focused way. I would always choose do something carefully and correctly vs doing it haphazardly and quick. I want to do my best to help everyone!

Ian - interesting, how would you describe her personality?

I identify with the Queen of Wands. I am also drawn to the seven and nine of coins and the three and seven of cups.

Dear Lisa

I would describe her as a very caring, but intense individual. She was highly creative having just retired from a career in printing to begin a new one with her Pagan shop. When she was not reading the cards or dealing with shop related business she was either crocheting or embroidering, these were things she could put down instantly to attend customers or clients.

She was a Pisces with a Scorpio rising and always reminded me of a squirrel. Constantly on the go with many different projects. When the place where the shop was based closed she moved on to do a degree in fine art, which she taught at university and night school until she retired.

Having not seen her for nearly a year I thought "I really ought to see how she is getting on these days". Yesterday I ran into her twice while doing my Homecheck job. Once at the beach and once in the high street! Very Tarot like!!

Like most everyone else, it depends on the stage of our life and mood, etc. Although I am a moon child by astrological chart, I have always been drawn to the tarot cards, "The Sun" and "The World." Such happy, positive cards!

Even though my external world has its challenges, there's always a spark of hope and joy inside me.

I dunno but I believe that all of this has an eternal purpose. And, like that old Indian proverb goes, "everything turns out all right in the end. If things aren't all right, it's not the end."
