Today:

Break - hot milk with spices

Lunch - two multigrain english muffins with smart choice, cracked pepper, fresh garlic and nutritional yeast.

Snack - Water w/antioxidants

Tonite - pepperonis, provolone, pickles and mustard. I kind of made little sandwiches with them, no bread, just stacking them as little appetizers.

I put out a bowl of oatmeal, raisins and cinnamon to go for tomorrow. smile

I think i might have to compost the four remaining tomatoes. They are really really mushy. I didn't want to deal with them tonite. If I don't eat them tomorrow, out they go.

Dear Jilly -

That's great, either way they are useful!

I find tomatoes do best in medium-cool. Not in the fridge, but not on the counter either.

Today was an example of what happens when my plan falls apart. I had to rush to a class and grabbed some leftover decaf from the other day that I heated in the microwave.

When i got home at 4pm i was ravenous and had three whole grain english muffins with smart choice, nutritional yeast, garlic and vegemite, plus a yogurt.

While that's not terrible, if I'd been less hungry i could have added a banana to this for a fruit serving, or some kind of veggie.

working on my water with antioxidants now and my vitamins.

I think tonite I will have my hot milk/spices/fiber mix and a banana with it.

So it's a non veggie day i guess, but at least there will be a fruit in there.

Today - No time for hot milk or coffee - only had water.

Lunch - Oatmeal with a banana, raisins, yogurt, spices and cocoa.

I am not hungry yet for dinner but am thinking of a beef patty on whole grain buns with cabbage, mustard and tomatoes.

I think I can cook the beef in the toaster oven? Does anyone know?

Dear Jilly -

It is so true that we make better decisions in all areas of life when we have time and calm! The challenge is finding that time, or somehow preparing for it.

LiveStrong has a step by step article on how to cook a burger in a toaster oven -

Thank you for that link, Lisa!

Dinner - not so good. Dan came home and brought me some nice hot french fries. Oops. I ate them. I did have them with a heap of tomatoes and lettuce, with nutritional yeast, some mayo, garlic and fresh herbs...but really. Blech. French fries! I don't even think fries counts as a food. Maybe it counts as a toxin. wink

Oh, and I added a few small chicken fingers from the fridge. Those were nasty and I won't have them again.

I had a glass of cabernet for dessert, which was nice, and am now drinking my water.

---------

Making a plan for tomorrow. I will have hot milk with a banana and finish off a yogurt. Then dan and I are driving to Tucson for his birthday, and we are already planning to hit a pizza place he loved when he was a student out there. I will make sure to see we at least split a salad with our pizza.

I should bring along some healthy snacks for the road. I do have a bag of pistachios i got from my food pantry, and I can certainly bring more bananas, raisins, yogurt and applesauce. Cinnamon too!

I have been traveling around and it's really difficult to stay on task with food when you have zero routine. I need to sit down and remember how I ate - I know there was pizza for dinner one night and cold stone ice cream on another.

Today I will be starting with my milk... smile
