Jilly and Deanna, my toilet used to be what we Aussies used to call the 'outhouse' or the 'thunder box' or just the plain old 'dunny in the back yard'.
When sewerage came, we tried to have a nice new toilet in the house, but rules wouldn't allow because our cottage was small, and there was no room in the bathroom and the rest of the suitable rooms were too close to the kitchen. So, we had the outer path leading to our back door closed in, and, where the Paw Paw tree used to be, we built the toilet! (You're allowed to giggle!)
So now, the toilet is next to the laundry, and it's actually STILL outside the back door, but at least now, we don't have to walk out into the back yard through all weather to go to the toilet when awakened through the night (REALLY bad) or even in the daytime. Now, we only have to remember not to lock ourselves out, and we no longer get wet when it rains!
Progress! HAH!
Melwyn.
