Hello Dean.

I just read your forum rules/etiquette and think you worded it very well. Thank you.

I sometimes have double vision when I am overly tired and switching back and forth from the computer and reading in a book (when I am doing research).

Is this just from tiredness of the eyes or should I have this checked out?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi, Phyllis. Thanks for reading my forum and the information posted. I appreciate your support. About your question concerning double vision. First, I by no means am qualified to make any type of diagnosis as an eye doctor. But can offer some suggestions from my experiences with vision and concerns dealing with eyesight. If your problem is one which effects your ability to see for any length of time you should definitely have it checked out. I follow the rule - "Better safe than sorry!" It never hurts to have a problem you notice with your vision checked out! Especially, if you have not had a recent eye exam. Eye exams after age 40 should be yearly or at least every two years. If you already wear glasses then any change you notice in your vision should be checked out! If you have been switching back and forth from a computer screen and a book for several hours then eye strain could be a factor and simply taking a break and allowing the eyes to rest may be all you need to do. A couple thoughts about your work area: 1. is your work area well lighted - an area too bright or too dark can add to the stress and strain on the eyes tiring them and weakening the eye muscles; 2. using a glare reduction screen over your computer monitor can reduce the strain on the eyes. Just something to think about. When you notice the double vision - if closing your eyes for a moment letting them rest corrects your vision then most likely you just needed to let them rest. But if the problem persist's there could be something else going on. Be on the cautious side and have an eye doctor take a look. I sincerely hope I have offered some information that made you consider a plan of action. Again, I am definitely not a doctor and do not know everything about vision. Becoming visually impaired and losing my vision causes me to be in favor of checking out any change or noticed problem dealing with vision and the eyes. **I am in week 4 of the training process therefore, any suggestions or advice that would help me to do a better job or make the vision issues site better I would welcome from you. Thanks in advance. Thanks again for your question. Wishing you a very prosperous and happy 2012! Best of luck!

Thank you so much, Dean. This helps me a lot and I will have my eyes checked.

I also am in week 4 of training. Welcome to BellaOnline, I hope all goes well for you. It is good to have you here in this great community.

I have been here, as an editor, since 2007 and I love it! Every time we change sites, we have to go through training again -- which is a good thing, for it keeps us up to date and on our toes.

Happy New Year!!!

Hi, Phyllis. Your welcome. I am enjoying the training process. I am somewhat concerned about some of the graphics issues. Being visually impaired makes arranging images and webpage difficult. I usually ask a friend to assist me when arranging images on a webpage. I am looking forward to the adventure of writing articles, constructing a newsletter, and developing my forum. I am excited about becoming a member of the Bella Online Community. Have a great day!

I can give you help with the graphics, Dean. It is a bit intimidating at first, but, once you get used to it you will really appreciate the options it will give you.
