BellaOnline Forums Health and Fitness Wellness Starting Wellness Program @ work

Just wanted to share because I'm so excited. For those that don't know I'm an HR manager for a local govt agency. We've got almost 300 employees and just as many volunteers.

Anyway, for the last couple of months I've been working on putting together a wellness program. Since the agency is spread out in 10 different buildings in a county that is 300 square miles, it is a bit of a challenge, but I did it! It's motivational and informational.

I put together a packet with a lot of great information. My boss gave a bit of a budget to purchase water bottles with our agency name on them. I have 2 wonderful women helping me put it all together. It launches January 3 (the day we all get back to work). Aside from the packet, each week they will receive a newsletter with motivation, wellness, nutrition and exercise tips.

It's kept me pretty busy but it's launching next week...I'm so excited. Wish me luck!!!

That's so awesome D! Did you know that corporate wellness is one of the top fitness trends last year and again this year? Companies are really starting to invest in this bcz it keeps workers healthy, happy and productive and it lowers health care costs, sick days, and many other benefits.

Some companies even hire trainers to teach classes after work (Zumba, bootcamp, etc.). My sister started taking a circuit class at her work this year and she loves it. She is much happier and doesn't get as sick anymore.

Great job getting it started! That is the hardest part.
