Why isn't there an editor for vision issues when I need one lol. Anyone, color blindness is predominately a female carried gene, though females don't typically "have color blindness." The males in my family are very color blind, in fact, my son had seen many specialist before he passed away, and they said they had no idea what he saw, the worst color blindness they have ever seen.

My question, my granddaughter, who will be four in May is quite intelligent, can do all the things she should, except to learn colors, not all colors but certain colors. Could she be color blind?

Diana:

It sounds like a possible issue.

Is there a way to have her tested or will you guys have to wait until she gets older and can communicate with everyone.

Hi, Dianne. Just read your post and wanted to know what you found out about your grand daughter's situation! Did anyone ever identify if she was experiencing color blindness?

She is able to distinguish between some colors. I notice green is a big problem. I am working with her trying to determine which color ranges are the problem. Right now we are concentrating on the ADD/HD issue. Then when she can sit for a bit and not squirm she can be tested. She has been to an eye doctor several times, just not ready to test.

Thanks for the update Diana - things have a way of falling in place when we continue to do our part - which is just what you are doing smile

Hi, Dianne. Thanks for responding. My background is teaching but at the secondary level. I taught for 15 years before sight problems caused me to resign. Sounds like you are doing some great things to help her. I worked with students dealing with the attention issues and it takes patience and a willingness to keep doing things over and over but it does get better. Best of luck!
