Shirley, I've learned things come to me in a season. For a while I will be really diligent in research, then in organization, then in writing, etc. I need to do better in all those things I mentioned in the article, that is why it came to me so quickly.

But, I do need to write my sister in law and tell her I want her to have my history and genealogy when I am dead as she is the other genealogist in the family and would see it was taken care of properly. I am hopeful one day one of my kids will show an interest, but not as of yet.

Thanks for writing. You can always start by taking baby steps. just one thing at a time. Gradually those baby steps can turn into a mile.

I told my kids that if they are not interested in genealogy they should box it all up and donate it to one of the state libraries - Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, or Georgia. That is where most of the genealogy takes place.

What worries me is all the email and online stuff - it will get lost in the shuffle.

Tina, yes, I do need to make time to do this. Thanks for the reminder.

You are so right Angie - does anyone know of a way to keep track of the emails & online stuff?

I quit using Outlook and use an online email so I can access it where ever I am on the internet. I use Mozy to save alot of my things online in case my laptop crashes. Then you can also access your info whereever you have internet. I also use Dropbox. I do not subscribe, but I think I might to Dropbox one day.

Hi Tina & Angie:

Thanks for the feedback - always GREAT to learn from other folks.

Not too much in love with gmail, but after finally sitting down and setting it up the way that works for me - slowly warming up to it(lol).
