LOL, I tried to join my church choir several years ago when I worked for a local church. Yep, you guessed it - I did not make the cut smile

Now your turn to share with us...

Did you make the cut or not?

If you did, do you think your talent came naturally or did you have to work at it?

What do you like about singing in your church choir?

Does the rest of your family sing also?

Thanks,

Wow! The church you attend must be huge if there are tryouts for the choir.

Do I sing in my church choir? Well, my husband and I, along with another lady and the pastor, make up the praise and worship team at our church. My husband's talent comes so naturally. He plays the keyboard (and just about any other instrument) and requires no music. He only needs to have heard the song. He also has a beautiful voice.

I can sing, some days better than others, but I can carry a tune and stay on key. I know if my voice wasn't pleasing, my husband would be sure and let me know. I was in the choir during the 4 years I was in high school, so maybe I had to work at my talent just a little.

What do I like about singing in church? I simply love to sing for my Lord and Savior.

Hi Lisa:

I know this is a very old post, but wanted to respond.

Yes, it was very large - you tended to get lost in the numbers(lol).

I envy folks like your husband who has that natural talent. I use to take piano lessons as a child back in Jamaica, West Indies. Wished I had paid attention back then, but was too busy rebelling.

Yep, you are doing something that you ENJOY and can do.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing with us.

Hugs,
A

Like Lisa, I love to sing. Our church choir is fairly small, about a dozen people, and there are times when I wish we had tryouts,(Like when the alto next to me sings whatever notes she feels like, or when the alto on the other side blasts a slightly flat note as loud as she can) but then I remember that the bible doesn't say, "sing like an opera diva" but "make a cheerful noise unto the Lord." Singing always makes me cheerful!
