The other day, I was looking for a type of candy that my daughter likes and I couldn't remember the name of it. "Where is that candy she likes?" I asked my husband. "I think they're called Gummy Children."

He laughed and said, "Do you mean Sour Patch Kids?"

sigh.

I kinda worry about early dementia. Once, I told my daughter to eat her needles when I meant noodles. Words aren't coming to me so easily. I called a camera that "picture-taker thing"...

I wonder how serious this is.

I worry a lot about Alzheimer's
My dad had, it his father had it, and his brothers and sisters had it
I show signs of having problems finding and using the right words and difficulty with abstract thinking
The other day my grandson asked if i could by Broccoli I asked him to show me a picture I honestly had no idea what Broccoli was
I'm 64yrs old and have bought Broccoli often in my life time But i drew a blank
It happens to me a lot with many different things
I can understand your fear of having Alzheimer's
It's scary
I will talk to my doctor about it on my next visit
And wish everyone fearing the onset of Dementia do the same

I think we do forget things no matter what age we are.

But yes, as we age, we do need to pay attention to what our bodies are telling us and seek out solutions.

I think most seniors and middle aged people worry about this. I do yoga and tai chi and take various supplements for my brain so I hope it doesn't happen.
