In an article that I wrote about Ellisville Harbor State Park back in January of this year, Ellisville Harbor State Park I mentioned that visitors should bring binoculars because on rare occasions whales can be seen from the beach at the park. Today some very rare Wright whales were spotted a mile or so off of Ellisville Harbor beach. They have also been spotted in New Hampshire lately.

These whales are endangered and it is exciting to hear that they have been showing up this year.

I think I will swing by there this week and see if I can get a photo or two.
