Hello! I am thinking about starting to try for a first baby in about a year (if I can get my hubby on board with this), and I'm trying to research everything I can about pregnancy before making the big jump. One serious concern I have is the fact that I had a lumbar discectomy about 2 1/2 years ago on a ruptured disk. I'm doing wonderful now - running 3 miles a day and doing yoga a few times a week with no back pain at all. Additionally, I have a very nutritious diet and have gotten back down to my high school weight! (I'm 31 yrs old). I'm doing absolutely everything I can to be in top condition. What scares me is what the weight of a baby can do to my lower back, given that I have a history of back problems. Before I had the surgery, I was in torturous pain - medicines and physical therapy didn't help, and I couldn't sleep at night at all. I'm so afraid of returning to this state again. I know I will be getting a c-section, since I have cervical stenosis, so that helps with the birth part. But carrying around 10 lbs in your belly is a situation that can't be controlled for some time! Don't know if anyone has any experience on this one.

Also, please send up a little prayer about my husband's decision in this. I need his cooperation and willingness to make this baby possible!
