Did you know the first set of baby boomers will reach the age of 65 this year? What does that mean for the workforce?

- Many baby boomers may not be prepared for retirement and will stay on in the workforce, making it difficult for new workers to enter the workforce especially in a down economy.

- Soon, however, there will be a mass exodus from the workforce as they are forced to retire due to failing health.
Unfortunately, with this exit, they will take with them years and years of knowledge and skills.

Companies will need to strategize on how to replace this unreplaceable talent.

If you are one of the people staying - how are you working toward getting the knowledge necessary to fill the void?

If you're an employer or supervisor (or co-worker) how is your department and/or company preparing? Are they doing any type of succession planning or any type of additional training?
