This week there was a bit in the news about how Camilla Parker Bowles, Duchess of Cornwall and wife of Prince Charles, got some henna done on her hand while on vacation in Tanzania. She was told the design would only last a day or two and now she's in the embarrassing spot of coming home and doing official functions with a design that she couldn't wash off.
Now, anyone who knows anything about henna could have told her that the stain it leaves can last for up to 4 to 6 weeks.
Is there anything you yourself have learned from getting some sort of body art, tattoo or piercing that you wish you had known ahead of time? Was it something you could have asked about or something you feel the artist should have told you?

Absolutely! How all the expenses and artwork end up looking, 30 yrs after it's sliding down the back of your... Like, we should be given one of those YouTube time lapses with before and after scenarios so you're able to see what exactly you end up with past the cute little tattoos here and there.

That the worst part of getting a tattoo isn't the needle, it's that ANNOYING, un-scratchable itching that happens as it heals!

That's a good one, Debra. The not-being-able-to-scratch part is short but highly-annoying.

I always put on lotion when it starts itching...I use the gold bond aloe lotion. That's what my tattoo guy recommends and it does help.

At least it was proper Henna and not that black hair dye that so many people have allergic reactions to!

As someone who has now been tattooed for 20 years, I find my tattoos to be just as enjoyable as the day I first got them and see no reason for that to change in the next decade. It's all about whether you are smart enough to know yourself... or not.
