Out of curiosity how many of you have actually preformed an invoking ritual like 'drawing down the moon'? If you have could you please share your story.

The reason I am asking this because after 15 of being in "the craft' I finally feel comfortable enough with myself to attempt the drawing down the moon ritual. In fact I am starting to feel like I need to do this in order to move my self level in my spiritual development. I was hoping to hear some stories from others who have done this ritual to help be prepare for it.

Hi Sulverna,

I actually thought it was a pretty easy ritual. And it felt nice - I felt nurtured and clear and energized afterward.

I liked that it felt very feminine and soft... like moonstone wink

Invoking rituals such as 'Drawing Down the Moon/Sun' not only feel different for everyone, but change slightly every time you do them.
If you are nervous perhaps you should do a divination first, or request the assistance of one of the moon Goddesses- or God if you are working with Norse Deities.
There are some Warmup-type exercises you can do as outlined in the article.

laugh I love it, Ian!

Old farmers always say, "Never corner anything meaner than yourself." That may imply here as well.

Thanks for the laughter!!!

What many practitioners of magick that focuses on invocatio forget is the even more wise advice

"Never invoke anything cleverer than yourself" laugh

So with all your wonderful sage advise you largely failed to answer the question at hand "Have you ever preformed an invocation ritual?" If so could you please mention what spirit was invoked, why, and how did it go?
